Weather that boosts each type
boosted moves deal 1.2xHow GO type effectiveness differs from the main games
Pokémon GO uses gentler multipliers. A super effective hit does 1.6x instead of 2x, a resisted hit does 0.625x instead of 0.5x, and the immunities from the main series don't exist. A Normal move into a Ghost type lands at 0.39x, the same as a double resistance, so a Ghost raid boss still takes a sliver of damage from it.
Dual types multiply. Ice into Dragon/Flying is 1.6 × 1.6 = 2.56x, the biggest multiplier in the game, and the reason Ice moves are the standard answer to Dragonite, Rayquaza and Salamence. Stacked resistances go down to 0.244x when a type resists one side and is "immune" to the other.
Two more multipliers sit on top of type effectiveness: moves that match the attacker's own type get a 1.2x same-type bonus, and moves of a type the current weather boosts get another 1.2x. A weather-boosted, same-type, super effective move hits for 1.2 × 1.2 × 1.6 = 2.3x the neutral damage.
