How the counters are ranked
Every released Pokémon is tried with every moveset it can learn, at level 40 with 15/15/15 IVs, and keeps its best one. Damage per hit follows the game's formula: half the move's power, times the attacker's Attack over the boss's Defense, times same-type bonus (1.2x), type effectiveness, weather boost (1.2x) and the friendship bonus, rounded down, plus one.
DPS is how fast a counter deals that damage while cycling fast and charged moves, and TDO is how much it deals before it faints. The incoming damage that decides how long a counter lasts comes from the boss's own moveset against that counter's typing and Defense, so a Pokémon that resists the boss ranks higher than its raw attack suggests. The score is the fourth root of DPS³ × TDO, the weighting most raid guides use, which favours speed but still rewards a counter that stays in.
A raid only allows one Mega at a time, so read the list without Megas if someone else is bringing one, and turn off elite moves if you don't have the Elite TMs to teach them.
