Overview
PokeTools ("we", "us", "our") is a free, browser-based Pokémon toolkit at www.poketools.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data we collect
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-4CQC7NFKFP) to understand how visitors use PokeTools. Google Analytics collects:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level, not precise)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Referral source (how you found PokeTools)
- Anonymized IP address
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.
Local storage
Some tools save your preferences and progress (e.g., Nuzlocke Tracker encounters, Living Dex progress, Shiny Tracker counts) to your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device; it is not sent to our servers or any third party. Clearing your browser data will remove it.
No account system
PokeTools does not have user accounts, login systems, or registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information through the site itself.
Advertising
The advertising on PokeTools is sold and served by NitroPay, which fills each slot through a number of advertising exchanges. NitroPay and those exchanges may set cookies or read device identifiers in order to choose an advertisement, limit how often you see the same one, and measure whether it was viewed.
What they use for that includes your IP address and the rough location it implies, your browser and device type, the pages you look at here, and identifiers set on earlier visits to this site or to others. They are not given anything that names you, because the site does not hold anything that does: there are no accounts here. NitroPay describes its own handling in the NitroPay privacy policy.
You can limit personalised advertising through any of these:
- Google Ads Settings, for advertising served by Google
- YourAdChoices, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out
- Your Online Choices, for visitors in Europe
These are stored per browser, so clearing cookies or switching browser means setting them again. Opting out does not remove the advertising, it makes it less relevant to you.
Third-party services

- Cloudflare: CDN and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may set security cookies (__cf_bm) and processes requests to deliver content faster. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Data sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized, and we cannot identify individual users from it. The one thing that does leave the site is what the advertising stack collects, described above: under California law that counts as sharing, and the opt-out for it is in the footer of every page.
Children's privacy
PokeTools does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from any user, this applies universally.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Opt out of Google Analytics tracking (browser add-on or cookie settings)
- Clear all localStorage data saved by PokeTools (browser settings → clear site data)
- Request information about what data we hold (contact us below)
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to exercise those rights without being charged a different price or given a worse service.
In the last twelve months the site has collected identifiers (IP address, cookie and device identifiers), internet activity (pages viewed, the referring site, browser and device details) and the inferences advertising partners draw from that activity. All of it comes from you or your device as you browse, and identifiers and internet activity are disclosed to the analytics and advertising partners named above.
We do not sell personal information for money. Passing information to advertising partners for interest-based advertising counts as a sale or share under California law, so the opt-out is provided: use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer. It appears for visitors in California and records the choice for the browser you are using. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Since PokeTools has no accounts, a request to know or delete can only cover what an advertising partner holds, and that opt-out link is the direct route to it.
Visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland
You are asked for consent before any advertising or analytics cookie is set. The prompt is run by NitroPay through a consent management platform built on the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, and it names the vendors and what each one does. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the consent link in the footer; withdrawing it does not affect processing that already happened.
Where a legal basis is required, ours are consent for advertising and analytics cookies and legitimate interest in keeping the site working and free of abuse. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of PokeTools after changes constitutes acceptance.
