Pokemon GO Evolution Calculator

Enter your Pokemon's current CP to see the CP range it will reach after evolving, per branch, with candy costs.

Pokemon

Evolving keeps a Pokemon's level and IVs, only the base stats change. The range below covers every IV and level combination that can produce the CP you entered; powered-up Pokemon on half levels widen it slightly.

How the evolution CP calculator works

Evolving in Pokemon GO never changes a Pokemon's level or IVs, only its base stats. That means the evolved CP is fully determined once you know which level and IV combinations your current CP allows. This calculator finds every combination that produces your exact CP, recomputes CP with the evolved species' base stats for each one, and reports the minimum, maximum, and median. Branching lines like Eevee show a range for every branch, along with the candy cost and any required item.

The underlying formula is CP = floor((BaseAtk + AtkIV) × sqrt(BaseDef + DefIV) × sqrt(BaseSta + StaIV) × CPM² / 10), with a minimum of 10. CPM is the CP multiplier for the Pokemon's level, rising from 0.094 at level 1 to 0.8403 at level 50. Since level and IVs carry over, the ratio between pre- and post-evolution CP stays roughly constant for a given species, which is why the predicted range is narrow even when the exact IVs are unknown.

Base stats, evolution branches, candy costs, and item requirements all come from the live game master file, so the numbers here match the current version of the game, including regional forms that evolve into their own variants, multi-stage lines with cumulative candy totals, and special items like the Sinnoh Stone or Metal Coat.
