How Mega Energy and Mega Levels work

The first Mega Evolution of a species costs Mega Energy: 200 for most Pokémon and more for legendaries. After that, Mega Evolving again is free once the cooldown ends, and Mega Energy only buys a skip. Every Mega Evolution on a new day adds a point toward the next Mega Level: High at 7 and Max at 30, each with a shorter cooldown and a cheaper skip.

While a Mega is out, Pokémon you catch that share one of its types drop extra Candy, and from High level they can drop Candy XL and extra XP. In raids the Mega boosts everyone's attacks: 30% for moves of its type and 10% for the rest.

Super Max is a fourth level for a handful of species. It needs the Max level's 30 Mega Evolutions plus 5,000 Mega Energy, cuts the cooldown to a day, raises the catch bonuses again and lifts the Mega's own level by two for battle.
