About the shiny hunting tracker
Shiny hunting is a patience game. At base odds of 1/4,096 in Gen VI+ (1/8,192 in older games), thousands of encounters can pass before that alternate color appears. This tracker counts every encounter and calculates your cumulative probability in real time, so you always know how likely you are to have found your shiny by now.
Every method, with the real odds
Pick your game, method, chain length, and Shiny Charm when you start a hunt and the tracker computes the exact per-encounter odds from the same extra-rolls model as our shiny odds calculator: Masuda method at 1/683.1 in Gen VI+ (1/512.4 with the charm), SOS chains and catch combos at up to 1/273.5, chain fishing at up to 1/95.7, Scarlet / Violet sandwich hunting at up to 1/512.4, Poke Radar chains, Legends: Arceus outbreaks, Dynamax Adventures, and full odds all the way back to Gen II. Hunts you started before this update keep their saved odds.
Mean, median, phases, and pace
Each hunt shows two targets: the expected (mean) encounter count of 1/odds, and the median, the point where half of all hunters have already found their shiny. The median is always lower, about 69% of the mean, which is why going "over odds" is so common. The over odds note appears once you pass the mean. A phase counter records off-target shinies, and an optional session timer measures your encounters per hour and estimates how long a 50% chance takes at your pace.
Your data stays yours
Hunts save to localStorage automatically, completed hunts move to the found lattice, and the export button downloads all hunts as a JSON file you can back up or move to another device with the import button. The strip above shows your other saved trackers alongside this one.
