Comparing Pokemon Base Stats
Base stats define a Pokemon's strengths before IVs, EVs, or natures come into play. This tool places up to 6 Pokemon side by side with stat bars and type badges, highlighting the leader in each category in green. It is the fastest way to decide between similar candidates for a team slot.
What Is BST?
BST (Base Stat Total) is the sum of all six base stats. It gives a rough measure of overall power but does not tell the whole story. A Pokemon with 600 BST spread evenly across all stats plays very differently from one that dumps everything into Attack and Speed. Wishiwashi (Solo Form) has the lowest BST at 175, while Arceus sits at the top with 720.
When to Use Comparison
- Team building -- compare offensive threats to find the best wallbreaker or sweeper for your team
- Split evolutions -- decide between Gardevoir and Gallade, or Vaporeon and Jolteon
- Generation matchups -- see how a Gen I Pokemon stacks up against its modern counterparts
- Competitive tiering -- quickly spot which Pokemon in a tier has the best Speed or bulk
