HP variant adds L+10 · tests all 32 IVs per stat
Level the Pokémon up and enter its stats again. Each level's candidates are intersected, which narrows ranges a single level leaves ambiguous. Assumes the EVs above are unchanged between entries.
Pokémon IV calculator: reverse-engineer hidden stats
Individual Values (IVs) are hidden numbers from 0 to 31 assigned to each of a Pokémon's six stats at capture or hatch. The game never displays them directly, but this calculator works backward from the stats you can see.
How the reverse calculation works
Enter your Pokémon's visible stat values, its level, nature, and any EVs it has earned. The calculator tests all 32 possible IV values against the stat formula and returns only the ones that produce an exact match. At low levels several IVs can produce the same stat, giving you a range rather than a single answer.
Narrowing the range further
Two extra inputs shrink wide ranges fast. The characteristic (the flavor line on the summary screen, like "Likes to thrash about") reveals which stat has the highest IV and pins that IV to one of seven values. Entering the same Pokémon's stats at more than one level intersects the candidate lists, since only the true IV matches at every level.
Tips for precise results
- Higher-level Pokémon give narrower IV ranges; level 100 almost always pins each stat to a single IV
- Make sure you enter the correct nature, since a 10% stat swing from the wrong nature throws off every result
- Account for all EVs the Pokémon has earned; even a few untracked EVs shift the calculation
- Freshly caught or hatched Pokémon with 0 EVs give the most reliable results
- Hyper trained stats display as 31 IV, so use stat values from before hyper training
Competitive players use this tool to verify breeding results, check wild catches for viable IVs, and confirm that a traded Pokémon's stats match what was advertised.
