Wild Held Item Reference
Many wild Pokémon carry items that transfer to your bag when caught or knocked out with Thief/Covet. This tool covers all held items with version-specific rarity data across Gen III through Gen VII.
Search by Item
Look up any held item to see every wild Pokémon that carries it, sorted by rarity. Use this when you need a specific item and want to find the most reliable source - for example, finding which Pokémon carries a 100% Lum Berry in Emerald.
Search by Pokémon
Look up a Pokémon to see all items it may carry in the wild, with per-version rarity. Rarity is color-coded: green (100%), blue (50%+), purple (20%+), yellow (10%+), and red (5% or below).
About Wild Held Items
Since Generation II, wild Pokémon have had a chance of holding items when encountered. These held items range from common berries to rare competitive staples like Light Ball (held by Pikachu) or Metal Coat (held by Magnemite and Scyther). The probability varies by game version, typically at 5%, 50%, or 100% rarity tiers.
How to Use This Tool
Switch between Search by Item to find every Pokémon that holds a given item, or Search by Pokémon to see every item a specific Pokémon can hold in the wild. Use the optional version filter to narrow results to a specific game. Results show the exact hold percentages sourced from game data across 22 game versions from Ruby & Sapphire through Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Competitive players use this tool to plan item farming routes, while Nuzlocke and challenge run players check which encounters might come with bonus items. The ability Compound Eyes increases wild held item rates, making it even more valuable to know which Pokémon hold what.
