About the random Pokémon generator
Need a random team for a challenge run? Picking a surprise starter? Settling a debate about which random Pokémon you would rather fight? This generator pulls from all 1,025 species with granular filters so the results actually match what you need.
Available filters
- Type - restrict to any of the 18 types
- Game - roll from one game's Pokédex, from Kanto through Lumiose City and Pokémon Champions, 22 pools in all
- Forms - add Megas, regional forms and other battle forms to the pool, with their own stats and types
- Generation - Gen 1 (151 Pokémon) through Gen 9 (120 Pokémon)
- BST range - set minimum and maximum Base Stat Total to target a power tier
- Special classes - exclude legendaries, mythicals, ultra beasts, and paradox Pokémon, or roll only from one of those groups
- Evolution - limit rolls to fully evolved Pokémon, or pick an exact stage: unevolved, middle, or final
Extras on every roll
Turn on random nature, random ability, or random gender to have each result rolled with one of the 25 natures, one of its real abilities (hidden abilities included), and a gender based on the species' actual gender ratio. Handy for Nuzlockes and randomized battle formats where the details matter.
Flexible output and sharing
Generate 1, 3, 6, or 12 Pokémon at a time. One is perfect for a random starter pick. Six gives you a full team. Twelve works for draft league random pools or elimination brackets. Every roll gets a seed, so share this roll copies a link that reproduces your exact result for anyone who opens it, locked cards included. The matching counter updates live as you adjust filters, so you always know how many candidates are available.
Each result card shows the official artwork, name, Dex number, types, and base stats at a glance. Keep an eye out: every rolled Pokémon has a 1 in 512 chance of showing up shiny.
