Pokémon team rater and competitive meta analysis
The team rater grades a team against real competitive usage data. Pick a format such as Gen 9 OU, VGC 2026, or any Smogon tier, then fill the six slots or paste a Showdown export to get the full breakdown.
What it checks
- Meta conformity: how many picks rank in the format's top 30, scored out of 100 and graded S through F.
- Threat matrix: whether the team answers the twenty most used Pokémon, with unchecked threats flagged.
- Coverage: offensive STAB coverage across all eighteen types, plus a defensive lattice that surfaces stacked weaknesses.
- Proven cores: pairs on the team that show up together on real ladder teams.
- Set suggestions: the most used ability, item, nature, EVs, Tera type, and moves for each slot.
Reading the grade
A high conformity score means the team is built from what the ladder already plays, which is a fair proxy for raw power but not for originality. A low score is not automatically bad, since off-meta teams win by catching people off guard. The threat matrix matters more than the grade: an unchecked S tier Pokémon costs games no matter how clever the rest of the build is.
