Pokémon EV optimizer: speed benchmarks, bulk, and custom spreads
Every Pokémon gets 510 total EVs to distribute, with a cap of 252 per stat. Where you put them decides whether your Pokémon outspeeds a threat, survives a hit, or falls short. This tool takes the guesswork out of EV allocation.
Three ways to spend the 510
- Speed benchmark: pick a target and the tool solves the minimum Speed EVs that beat it. Choice Scarf and Tailwind apply to both sides, and the benchmark can run max investment or none.
- Max bulk: commit your offense and Speed, then the optimizer pours everything left into HP, Def and SpD for the largest bulk product. The bias slider leans the split physical or special.
- Manual spread: full control over all six stats, with a running 510 counter and the same live stat readout.
Wasted EVs and breakpoints
EVs only count in blocks of four, and past a certain point extra investment buys nothing. The verdict strip walks each stat back to the smallest EV amount that still reaches the same number, so you can trim the fat and move those points somewhere they matter.
Import and export
Paste a Pokémon Showdown set to fill in species, nature, EVs, and IVs. Copy the optimized spread back out in Showdown format with one click. IVs stay editable for trick room sets (0 Spe) and mixed attackers.
HP optimization tips
The breakpoint line under the spread flags whether your HP is right for Leftovers recovery (divisible by 16), Stealth Rock (odd HP takes less), or Substitute (HP divided by 4). These small details add up over a long game.
