Finding Pokémon in Cobblemon
Pokémon in the Cobblemon Minecraft mod spawn based on biome, time of day, weather, and other conditions. Each species has a rarity tier (common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare) and a spawn weight that decides how likely it is to appear relative to the other Pokémon in the same tier.
Three ways to search
Find Pokémon searches by name to show every biome, condition and probability for that species. By biome takes a Minecraft biome and lists everything that spawns there, grouped by rarity. Overlap takes several Pokémon and finds the biomes where they all appear together.
How the odds are worked out
Cobblemon rolls a rarity tier first, then picks a species inside that tier by weight. The percentages here are a species' weight divided by the total weight of everything in the same tier and biome, so a 20% common spawn means one in five common encounters in that biome. Conditions such as night, rain or a light level cut the pool further, which is why the same Pokémon can look far more likely once you match its condition.
Vanilla and modded biomes
Cobblemon uses biome tags (like is_forest) that map onto specific Minecraft biomes. Many tags also include biomes from mods such as Biomes O' Plenty and Terralith. Keep the biome list on vanilla only if you play without biome mods, or switch to with mods to see the full set a tag can resolve to.
